The next stop to your academic journey is to be Exposed. That's right, attending Northern Exposure, the New Student Orientation program. As you begin to prepare for the transition to College, NKU has developed a comprehensive program to assist you in making a smooth and exciting transition. Orientation is an on-going process that begins when the student decides to attend NKU. As you begin planning for your transition to college, we would like you to mark your calendars early in an effort to attend the New Student Orientation program.
The mission of the NKU New Student Orientation program is to initiate an enduring connection between students, families and NKU. Our goals for Northern Exposure include:
- Fostering an environment that promotes student satisfaction and academic success.
- Promoting the integration of students into the intellectual, cultural, and social climate of the institution.
- Reinforcing students' decision to attend the University.
- Providing a positive orientation experience for parents and family members.
- Allowing students to develop early identification with an academic department.
- Providing opportunities to build a sense of community with other students, faculty and staff.
